Title

"Southern Heritage," a poem by Kyra Liedtke

Subject

Protests, Art, Civil Rights

Description

This poem by artist and BLM organizer/protester Kyra Liedtke, also a Flagler College alumna, reflects on the difficult dualism on being both Black and Southern in the United States. This poem, shared on social media, also reflects the increasingly variability of art as a form of remote protest. As Covid-19 rages on, especially in the artist's native Florida, poems, graphic designs, and emote rallies on social media continue to make up the undocumented bulk of the 2020 George Floyd and Black Lives Matter protests.
