This is an interview of Henry Green, done by Charlie Phillips in March of 2014. Henry started Green Furniture in the 1950’s, which was housed originally on St. George Street. They did business heavily with the residents of West Augustine, including making deliveries, repossessions, and long term payment plans. Because of his business, he was able to see firsthand the change of West Augustine as the major industries of shrimping, education, and the railroads periodically left the area. He also mentions many relationships that he had servicing the area of West Augustine with Green Furniture. Additionally, he mentions his role as Representative of Hastings and his contribution to ending illegal gambling and moonshine sales in West Augustine.
