Title

The Old Senator

Subject

The Old Senator tree is a large oak tree located at The 1556 hotel parking lot. The tree measures 21 feet long and 56 feet high. The tree is over 600 years old. This means that the tree is older than the city of St Augustine itself. Pirates, explorers, and everyone who has visited St Augustine in the last 600 years could have possibly interacted or seen this tree. It is rumored to bring good luck to those who kiss under it.

Description

A photo of a large oak tree with a sign outside reading "the oldest senator". A sign reading "The Old Senator. This magnificent Live Oak is one of the most remarkable trees in North America, reputed to be well over 600 years old, and thus surviving as though silent witness to that dramatic moment in 1513 when Juan Ponce de Leon finally discovered Saint Augustine's famed Fountain of youth a mere 600 feet from this very spot."
