Description

Charles Phillips interviewed Irvine Morrison who was born in St. Augustine, FL in 1935. The interviewer and Morrison talked about what life was like growing up in west St. Augustine. His father is from Cuba and then his mother is from St. Augustine, and his immediate family had lived in St. Augustine throughout Morrison’s entire life. He defines west Augustine as a place where he was born and how he gets along with everyone even though it wasn’t the best place. The conversation was mainly about his family, his fathers store that he worked at, and what home life was like. The oral history creates a vivid image of what it would have been like to live in West Augustine from 1935 until now.
