Description

Antonius (Toni) and Helena (Leni) Mans were born in Maastricht in the Netherlands in the 1920s and were young teenagers at the time of the German army’s occupation during World War II. After Toni had difficulty finding work after the war, the couple married and immigrated to the United States in 1953, where his sister already lived. They settled in Pennsylvania and worked in various factory and office jobs, while they raised their growing family.
